In response to Lebanon’s ongoing economic challenges, the ILO has undertaken a series of wage monitoring assessments to track the evolution of daily wages among unskilled workers. This latest report presents the findings from the February 2025 survey, covering over 2,250 workers across key sectors such as agriculture, construction, agro-industry, and the public sector.
The assessment highlights a steady increase in average daily wages, now at USD 15, compared to USD 12 in December 2023. It also explores issues such as household income, debt levels, displacement due to conflict, and wage sufficiency in meeting basic needs.
This monitoring exercise aims to inform wage-setting practices in temporary employment programmes, ensuring that interventions remain fair, competitive, and responsive to current market conditions. The report provides key insights and practical wage adjustment options for consideration by ILO and partner organizations.
